Hear from John Oates, CEO of the International Public Safety Data Institute (IPSDI), an organization that enhances public safety through data science. He talks about his early fire career and how he got started at IPSDI. You'll learn about the various sectors within the organization such as FireCARES, a Fire Community Assessment Risk Evaluation System, that analyzes massive amounts of fire department and community data to identify whether resources are appropriately deployed to match a community's risk level. As well as NFORS, a National Fire Operations Reporting System, that can assess the impact of a department's response availability, capability, and operational effectiveness on the outcome of a fire or other emergency.
