So, I would like to propose two different things just as we get started to really get the ball rolling. One, if you would like to set up a time for us to speak, I can send you my calendar link again or we can even do that via phone call, FaceTime, whatever, but just a time for us to meet to continue developing and refining our game plan.
In the meantime, I think your first homework assignment should be something along the lines of really creating and perfecting your basic script. So when Alexia and I talk about scripts, we're talking about hoteiros, but essentially just these situations that you always find yourself in. It's very useful to create a basic script that you can really practice and train, and then from that base, you can start improvising and having fun. It's also a very good way for us to get a very specific read on your pronunciation. So, my initial homework suggestion is to create your script.
Just include basic information like, "Hey, I'm Lacey, where you're from, what you do, why are you learning Portuguese, why are you interested in Brazil," and all the very normal basic introduction stuff. Maybe write that down and then practice it until you feel relatively comfortable and confident. The final product would be sending us a recording of you presenting your script, preferably improvising, and nothing long - just two or three minutes max.
Of course, if you have any questions in the meantime, let us know.
