Andrea Rice [00:00:20] Hello and welcome to REINCheck. I'm your host, Andrea Rice, and today we are checking in with REIN Property Manager Advisory Committee member Lisa Chandler. We'll be discussing PMAC and the rental forms available to REIN members. Thank you, Lisa, for taking the time to be here today.
Lisa Chandler [00:00:38] Glad to be here. Thank you.
Andrea Rice [00:00:40] Yes, thank you. And our goal today is just to give everyone a better understanding of what PMAC does and what property management forms are available to REIN members. So, Lisa, would you mind telling our members a little bit about what PMAC does?
Lisa Chandler [00:00:55] Be glad to. So PMAC is short for Property Managers Advisory Committee. The committee consists of seven property managers, myself included, and we are all members of REIN. We meet monthly to review current rental forms and to create new rental forms that will benefit REIN membership and those that practice property management. We make updates on an as-needed basis, and we pull those updates from issues that we are currently experiencing or feedback that we received from members of REIN.
Andrea Rice [00:01:37] Yeah, and I'd like to speak to that last statement because PMAC is always interested in getting input from our agents who do property management either for suggestions for improvements to current rental forms or for suggestions for forms that REIN may not have as a part of their rental library but the members would like to see added.
Lisa Chandler [00:02:01] So, feedback from REIN members is critical to what we do, even though we are practicing property managers on the committee, we don't run into every issue or experience every need that we might have as far as forms are concerned. So, it is most helpful for us to receive feedback from other REIN members as to what they would like to see to help them do their jobs better.
Andrea Rice [00:02:32] Yes, and, you know, rentals became mandatory for input back in 2016 and, you know, REIN's rental library has really grown since that time. As a matter of fact, 18 new rental forms have been added to the REIN library forms since January of 2016.
Lisa Chandler [00:02:53] You know, 18, that's a lot of forms, and instead of becoming, you know, sometimes I wish we could go back to many of us wish that we could go back to where there weren't as many forms needed. But unfortunately, there are. And some of the new forms that are important to point out that are available and that we have most recently worked on one is an accommodation request, one is an accommodation response, a modification request, a modification response, and an exclusive right to rent form. And before that, the assistance animal addendum, a pet addendum, a mold addendum, and a rental application. And that's just part of what we have to name a few. And then coming July 1st, PMAC will be releasing a home warranty addendum.
Andrea Rice [00:03:49] Well, I think it's safe to say that PMAC stays pretty busy updating forms, taking a look at new law changes, adding new forms. And I would like to point out that all of REIN forms, including these property management forms, can be found on REINMLS.com in the contracts and form section as well as in Instanet. But, Lisa, before we sign off today, is there anything else that you'd like to add?
Lisa Chandler [00:04:16] If you haven't done so already, it would be a good idea to take a moment to explore the many REIN forms. I did not list them all. There are a lot of rental forms currently available that didn't even exist a few years ago. PMAC works hard with the help of an attorney who sits in on every meeting to bring REIN members these forms. And we want to bring awareness to them in hopes that they can be beneficial to the agents out there doing property management. So we encourage you to go to REIN and to take a look at the forms and also to pass on any suggestions that you might have to PMAC for any member of PMAC on the forms and any suggestions for new forms. We welcome all feedback. We love to have feedback. And also you should check with your broker if you have any questions about what forms to use.
Andrea Rice [00:05:19] Yes, yes, good point. Thank you, Lisa, so much for taking the time to share a little bit about what PMAC does and what rentoul forms are available to our members. And thank all of you for listening. If you have any suggestions for PMAC, you can submit them to PMAC@reininc.com and we will make sure that those suggestions get on an upcoming meeting agenda. And if you've missed any of our previous episodes of REINCheck, I do invite you to go to REINMLS.com/podcast to check them out. Thank you and have a great rest of your day.
